Supporting Girls’ Education in India: Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat Education helping all the females out there

It is well known that women all over the world hold a key role in society, contributing to growth through their work, families, and nurturing characters. They are the backbone of everything that exists in this world. Educating every human being is not just a goal, it is a duty. The founder of Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat Education (JKPE), Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj, had this in His mind when He founded the school which now houses over 4000 girls from Kindergarten to College. Since its inception, Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat Education has educated over 55,000 girls.

They receive an all-rounded education and in 2016 even went through one of the world’s first mass training on self-defense. The girls are taught to become independent and intelligent, with many getting good jobs around India and then sending their salaries to their parents, which helps the economic growth of society as a whole. They also share the positive learning they gain at Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat Education with others in their lives, creating a pay-it-forward chain reaction.

At Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat Education, Kripalu Maharaj’s vision of providing quality education to underprivileged girls is being realized. The school has become a beacon of hope for families who cannot afford to send their daughters to school. Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat Education provides free education to these girls, empowering them to become independent and successful in their lives.

We met many students who shared their stories with us, but the story of Varsha will help one understand the struggles many of these young souls face. Aged only 6 years old, Varsha lives with her mother and brother. Unfortunately, when we met her last year, her father was terminally ill. Her mother is a seamstress and does odd jobs to pay for rent and daily nourishment. Her mother, Reeta, is not educated and thus cannot find a better-paying job and has to rely on family members for help. She wants more for her daughter and in the process works hard to ensure she has the time to drop her to school and then pick her up every day. She studies with her children too. She told us that she doesn’t want the life she has to be the same for her children and is so thankful to Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat Education and Shri Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj for providing this free education to her daughter. She was sure that without Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat Education, Varsha would not have got the quality education she needs. Unfortunately, Reeta’s husband has since passed away, and they are struggling every day, but Varsha is thriving in school, and we know that she will do very well for herself and her future after her graduation.

We wish Reeta and her family all the very best in the future. Kripalu Maharaj’s teachings on love and devotion continue to inspire millions around the world, and Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat Education is a testament to his vision of providing education to all.
